Injection for Sheep

  • Each mL contains 20mg of Moxidectin

  • MoxiSure LA Injection for Sheep contains moxidectin, a member of the milbemycin / avermectin family of anthelmintics.

  • It is effective against sensitive strains of the following parasites:

    Gastrointestinal parasites (adult and immature stages of): Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia (Teladorsagia) spp., Ostertagia circumcincta, Ostertagia trifurcata, Trichostrongylus axei, Trichostrongylus spp., Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Nematodirus spp., Nematodirus filicollis, Nematodirus spathiger, Cooperia spp., Cooperia oncophora, Strongyloides papillosus, Chabertia ovina, Oesophagostomum venulosum (Adults only), Trichuris ovis (Adults only), Inhibited (or hypobiotic) larvae of Haemonchus, Ostertagia and Trichostrongylus. Lungworm: Dictyocaulus filaria (adult and immature). Nasal bot: Oestrus ovis. Itchmite: Psorergates ovis.

    Protection Period:
    A single treatment of MoxiSure LA Injection for Sheep at the recommended dose rate prevents reinfection of sheep:

    The protection period may vary from the times stated. Where resistance exists, protection period may be shorter than those stated. Some field studies have shown that a longer protection period may be achieved. Resistance may develop to any anthelmintic.

    Ask your local veterinary practitioner or animal health advisor for recommended parasite management practices for your area to reduce development of resistance. It is advisable that a resistance test be conducted regularly when using parasite treatment.

  • By law the user must take due care, obtaining expert advice when necessary, to avoid unnecessary pain and distress when using the product other than as directed on the label.

    Sheep: 1mL per 20kg (equivalent to 1mg moxidectin per kg bodyweight).

    *DO NOT USE IN LAMBS LESS THAN 20KG

    Sheep heavier than 90kg should be dosed at 0.5mL/ 10kg.

    Dosing Schedule: A representative sample of animals should be weighed before the treatment to ensure the correct dose rate is used. Dose the mob to the heaviest animal by bodyweight in each group (ewes, wethers, rams, lambs etc.). Do not underdose. Where there is a large variation in size within the group, dose rate should be based on the label directions for each weight range. Drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate, to avoid excessive overdosing.

  • By law the user must take due care, obtaining expert advice when necessary, to avoid unnecessary pain and distress when using the product other than as directed on the label.

    Read entire unit carton before use.
    Only for subcutaneous injection at the base of the ear or high on the neck behind the ear. Animals should be restrained for treatment to ensure the product is injected under the skin, not into the muscle tissue. Intramuscular injection will result in prolonged residues. Check accuracy of injectors regularly.

  • It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds.

    MEAT Sheep producing meat and offal for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter either during treatment or within 127 days following the last treatment.

    MILK Milk intended for human consumption must be discarded during treatment and for not less than 180 days following the last treatment.

  • READ ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE USE.

    Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Harmful if swallowed. Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. May damage fertility or the unborn child. May cause harm to breast-fed children. May cause damage to organs from prolonged or repeated exposure.

    HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

    Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Avoid contact during pregnancy and while nursing. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Wear protective clothing and equipment such as impervious gloves and eye protection when using. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Wash hands and face thoroughly before meals and after work.

    FIRST AID

    If swallowed do NOT induce vomiting. For advice contact the National Poisons Centre – 0800 POISON (0800 764 766) – or a doctor, immediately. IF exposed or concerned or you feel unwell get medical attention or advice. IF IN EYES, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lens, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice or attention. IF ON SKIN, wash with plenty of water and if skin irritation occurs get medical advice or attention.

    ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

    Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Hazardous to soil organisms, terrestrial invertebrates and terrestrial vertebrates. Avoid contamination of any water supply with product or empty container. Avoid release to the environment. Collect spillage.

    Contains: NMP <20% w/v.

    DISPOSAL

    Preferably dispose of the product by use. Otherwise dispose of product and packaging at an approved landfill or other approved facility.

    STORAGE

    Store below 25°C (room temperature). Once broached, product can be used for up to 28 days.
